portia-and-scarlett-ps27527e
Portia and Scarlett PS27527E Halter High-Neck Cape Chiffon Fit-and-Flare Gown

About the Dress: Portia and Scarlett PS27527E

Portia and Scarlett PS27527E is a long halter-neck cape gown with a high neckline, a ruched fitted bodice, and a fluid pleated skirt that sweeps to the floor with a slight train. The gown comes in Wine, Navy, and Purple. A sheer chiffon cape attaches at the shoulders and flows to the floor alongside the skirt, making the silhouette dramatic without any beading or heavy embellishment. The fabric carries a soft metallic sheen that reads as luminous under event lighting.

Fit & Silhouette

PS27527E follows a fit-and-flare a-line shape. The bodice is structured and fitted through the waist, with gathered pleating and ruching concentrated at the stomach panel that shapes the midsection. From the hips down, the skirt opens into a heavily pleated, fluid fall that moves with every step. The high-back construction means the back is fully covered, keeping the look refined and formal from every angle. The cape sweeps the floor at the same length as the skirt and is attached at the shoulders — it is not a separate piece. Most customers find the sizing runs true to standard US formal sizing.

Fabric & Detail

The gown is constructed from pleated chiffon with a visible satin sheen on the bodice panel. The chiffon layer is lightweight and fluid, which creates the movement in the skirt and cape. The satin-finish fabric on the bodice gives the fitted section a slightly more structured, polished look compared to the flowing skirt. There is no beading, no embroidery, and no sequins — the impact comes entirely from the drape, the pleating, and the cape construction. Portia and Scarlett PS27527E has a single closure at the back neckline. A slight floor-grazing train adds length at the back hem.

Key Features

High halter neckline with gathered fabric at the throat

Ruched, fitted bodice with structured stomach-panel pleating

Attached floor-length sheer chiffon cape

Heavily pleated fit-and-flare skirt with a slight train

Full high-back coverage — no open-back exposure

Metallic-sheen chiffon and satin-finish fabric

Available in Wine, Navy, and Purple

No beading, sequins, or surface embellishment

Style & Occasion

Portia and Scarlett PS27527E is built for high-formality events. The cape silhouette and floor-length train make it a strong choice for prom, black-tie galas, formal evening events, and red-carpet occasions. The covered back and high neckline give it a polished, sophisticated look that fits dress codes on the stricter end of formal. The Wine colorway photographs richly in dim ballroom lighting and appears as a deep jewel red in person. Navy and Purple are also available to order. For shoes, a pointed-toe heel or strappy stiletto in gold, silver, or a matching tone works well — the floor-length skirt means the shoe is mostly hidden, so comfort matters more than visibility. Keep jewelry minimal: the high neckline and cape do the visual work, so small earrings or a simple bracelet are enough. If you want to add something, a delicate ring or a slim cuff at the wrist keeps the look clean.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0744/9541/files/portia-and-scarlett-ps27527e-wine-01-prom-dresses-marlas-fashions.jpg?v=1793906427
